What happens after I place my order?
You will receive an email confirming your order immediately after your order is placed. Our extraordinary Client Services team will keep you informed about shipping, tracking, and delivery status via email.
Is a signature required for delivery?
Yes. Because a signature is required for delivery, we recommend shipping to your office address. Client Services will contact you before your Harlen is shipped to confirm the address and that someone can sign for the package.
Is shipping complementary?
Of course. Harlen offers complementary outbound and return shipping to addresses within the United States. If you need an overseas solution, Client Services can assist you.
What is your return policy?
Harlen offers a 30-day return window with complementary return shipping within the United States. Simply contact Client Services for a return FedEx label and instructions, and we are happy to arrange for a FedEx pick up as well.
Refunds will be issued upon receipt and take 5-10 business days for your bank to process, depending on the bank.
Is a Harlen easy to care for?
Yes—very. Harlen’s Modern Careerpieces are designed to require minimal care. Because you have better things to do. Care information follows and is also included with your piece.
Leather: To remove dust, simply wipe with a microfiber cloth. If it gets wet, blot and let it air-dry.
Lining: Dust with a clean, dry cloth. Spilled liquids bead and can be blotted. For stains, contact us for specific instructions.
Hardware: Wipe with a damp cloth. Shine with silver polish on a dry cloth.
American alligator: Avoid getting the piece wet. If it gets wet, let it dry naturally. Take care when using hand creams or body lotions, as their residues could darken or discolor the piece. Polish with a dry cotton cloth.
Tibetan fur: Dust off the fur or vacuum it gently on the lowest setting with a hand-held attachment to remove debris. If it gets wet, shake off the moisture and let it air-dry.
Storing: Store Harlen Modern Careerpieces in the dustbag, away from humidity, moisture, or direct sunlight.
What are Harlen's sustainability practices, and what is "The Butterfly Mark"?
Harlen was awarded Positive Luxury's "Brands to Trust" Butterfly Mark — learn about this prestigious honor here — because we use sustainable materials that embody durability and style.
We source our materials exclusively from Italy from the finest Italian firms.
Our Italian leathers and Tibetan furs, which come to us by way of an Italian atelier, are by-products of the food industry.
The transformation of rough hides into stunning leathers allows for recovery and reuse of what would otherwise be additional waste, and Italy's rich history of leather production dates back well over 1,000 years. We work exclusively with Italian tanneries that have existed for generations in one of Italy's cradles of leather innovation and that serve as leaders in environmental and social responsibility. Among other things, they adhere to the quality standards and environmental regulations set out by UNI EN ISO 9001 and UNI EN ISO 14001.
Our American alligator is sourced from one of the finest firms in Milan, and the materials themselves are sourced exclusively through the Louisiana Department of Wildlife & Fisheries' sustained-use management and conservation program.
The Louisiana Department of Wildlife & Fisheries' Department notes that its sustained use program "is one of the world’s most recognizable examples of a wildlife conservation success story" and a model for species management.
The American alligator is not endangered or threatened anywhere in the United States, and the Louisiana program certifies to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service on an annual basis that there is no detriment to the species. Also, an uncontrolled alligator population is not good for the alligators or for the people who live near them.
